I am saving a project for gknot in DGindex and noticed that the frame type says interlaced its a PAL dvd and is 25fps, do I have to do any sort of interlacing? as I thought you only did this with NTSC 29.970fps if you didn't select force film in DGindex that is.
Anyone clarify this for me.
Thanks.

Hi-
...do I have to do any sort of interlacing?
Only you can determine that. Open the D2V in GKnot, scroll to a place where there's movement, and then advance a frame at a time. If you see interlacing/combing, it's interlaced; if you don't, it's not.
DGIndex reports how it was encoded, and not if the source is actually interlaced. There's a difference there. Most PAL movie DVDs are encoded as interlaced, but for most PAL movie DVDs, the source is actually progressive. Even if it shows interlacing, there's a good chance that it just has shifted fields that Telecide by itself can straighten out.
