Hallo
I testes divx6 for some times. The picture quality is great, eaven at low kb rates. But in speed it is much slower than 5.2.1.
I still use gk0.35. I know it was made for divx5, but it also works with version 6. You just have to remember the kb rate calculated in gk and have to put it in codec before encoding.
Now my question. Is there anything I have to adjust to speed up divx6 or is it just slower than 5.2.1?

You can turn off the feedback window. We will be further optimizing the feedback window for the next version.
Also try DivX Helium if you are on an HT, SMP, or Dual Core machine: http://www.divxlabs.com

I tested the Helium1623 and it made VDM crash or hooking up. Afte deinstalling Helium and reinstaling DivX6 all was fine again(but slower :D )

this is just a shot in the dark, but you might want to try the "COdec Performance" section on the "Codec" tab when configuring DivX 6... there's a dropdown box there with different speed settings. Try those.

is there a way to permanently get rid of the feedback window? everytime i encode something i have to expand the window and disable the 'enable feedback display' option. this gives a fair boost (to be fair, anything would considering i get .8-9 fps from it) but is annoying if i leave a few things going.

using vdubmod or something alike, and configure the DivX 6 codec, on the first page, click on Advanced, and then mark the box for disable feedback window.
