Hide and Seek R1 WS has problems at the end where there are ILVU cells. It jumps around between the cells. The rest of the movie is fine.

This may look like a stupid question but, you didn't try to play the VOB files directly, did you?

If you have a spare DVD, try burning the DVD-RB output and playing it in a standalone player. You might be pleasantly surprised. PC-based players can have a big problem w/ ILVU content, jumping back and forth between cells. Standalones are more adept at handling the content.

No...and I won't take that as an insult. ;)

As for playing back ILVU content on a standalone, no I haven't tried, but I watch DVDs on a PC as well so only working in a standalone isn't the best solution. I tried playing back with PowerDVD 6 and IfoEdit, same results in both.

Some observations on problems encountered with RB 1.00RC1 and "Hide and Seek":

1. This film will fit (uncompressed) on a DVD-5 with the movie only and one soundtrack (dd or dts) of your choice (DVD Shrink or Nero Recode can do it quite easily), however, RB 1.00RC1 doesn't seem to be able to do it and confusingly indicates a "Reduction Level for DVD-5: 68.9%" when there should be no reduction since "No compression" should result in 100% of the original film being preserved on DVD-5.

2. This film apparently has 5 versions (Titles 1 -5). DVDRB does not clearly indicate which version is being selected (i.e which Title). Each title differs, in length, by up to 1 minute. Since RB automatically selects the longest title (in this case Title 4 - 1:42:13) one can assume that RB it is NOT selecting the original "theatrical version", which is probably Title 1 (1:40:47). This can obviously be a problem if you want to backup only the original "theatrical version" of the film and not some alternate ending. I assume this is due to RB having no support, at this time, for multi angled films.

3. In RB, if you select MODE:
"No Compression";
"Movie Only";
"Output to ISO image file"; and
1 sound track and subtitle track

you wind up with a "Runtime Error 6" crash at some point during the Rebuild process and the following log file (4 1/2 VOB's were created but no IFO's, BUP's or ISO files):

Hide and Seek R1 WS has problems at the end where there are ILVU cells. It jumps around between the cells. The rest of the movie is fine.
I experienced the same thing. When trying to open the rebuilt files with DVD Shrink, Shrink gives the message," Invalid Data in File VTS 8_04(The one with the ILVU)Overlapped I/O in progress."
