Video Error Detecting Software?

I had a 250 gig hard drive that was full of recordings I made. Well most of them are in xvid or divx now. Well I formatted and reinstalled my computer yesterday with Windows XP, and I hooked up the drive before I used Datalife Guard to fully enable more than 137 gig support for windows... bad mistake. The computer came up and gave me some error and then it just deleted like 100 gigs of INFORMATION. Now the reason I have information in bold is because it didn't deleted one file, it deleted parts of files, just information. So now when I watch some of them in the middle they jam. On the other hand some work fine. So I just want to know if there is software that can scan a video file for errors, that way I don't have to watch like 300 videos to find out which ones are corrupt. Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

1) before, you could have created MD5 files of your video files.

2) But, if your files are AVIs, you could try DIVXFIX. The soft seek for stream error and bad frames.

3) Running windows on your data drive is a really bad idea... we never know when windows will fail :)

4) Also, running windows where your data is stored is really bad: get linux!!!! :D

It is my secondary hd, primary is 200 gb. And the reason I don't use linux is because I am lazy, I don't want to spend forever setting up all my games to work on it and stuff. I use linux for my server, thats all.
