@jdobbs

I was looking at the ecl created by DVD-RB and noticed that one of the quality improvements in CCE 2.70 is not enabled. The improvement is "fade on a static scene" found in the picture quality settings. From testing, it seems that this option really can improve fading transitions. There is a section in the CCE manual that describes it. This option is turned off by default.

To enable it, you would put no_move=1 in the [item] section of the ecl file:

[item]
.
.
no_move=1

I haven't tested this option much, but from what I understand it should be useful just in scenes where there is the fading (example: in CCE you set the range where there is the fade, and apply this option just for this segment).
I don't think it's useful in general, but I could be wrong.

Edit:
If it's an option always useful, why hasn't Cinemacraft added it as default, without the need of a switch?

It was my understanding that the quality of fades might sometimes be improved when CCE detected fades. The documentation does not state you need to set the ranges. I have enabled this option on many encodes and did not experience anything negative. But at the same time I had assumed a benefit, which may or may not be there.

There is limited documentation about this setting, I wish it was described better.
