I have authored two DVD's with this tool.. yet neither are playable.. artifacting and stuttering. The files on my hard drive created by DVDauthorGUI will play perfectly with powerdvd and so will the disc's yet the disc's won't play in a set top when burned. I am using Nero to burn.

Personally I have had no problems with mplex/DVDAuthor DVDs, but AFAIK its compliance with the DVD Spec is a little sloppy. But I'd think it odd if that resulted in what you are experiencing.

Try the easiest thing first (assuming you have an RW anyway) - create an image using IMGTool Classic (or mkisofs.exe if you prefer cli) and then burn with DVD Decrypter. That rules Nero in/out.

Also, if your video is interlaced, make sure it is correctly flagged and the field order is right.
