View Full Version : Where does DVD Shrink keep data on DVDs previously shrunk?

DVD Shrink has the ability to remember DVDs previously scanned, so that it does not have to re-scan an old disc if you cue it up again. It even seems to remember deep analysis info, at least on DVD's that have just recently been scanned. How far back does this data go? Is it stored in some kind of an index.dat file that just grows and grows forever as you use the program for year after year? Or does it only remember the last 10 or 20 DVDs or something?

I was just curious about this, because I looked around in the folder where the exe is, and I didn't see anything that looked like a log file or index data file.

I haven't tested its memory by putting in a disc that I had backed up several months ago. I wondered if anyone else knew the answer to this. As I said, I was curious.

Yes. If you put a DVD in that you have done before it will need analysing again. They are only a few K each so I keep them all.

Thanks. That answers it. I knew someone would be clever enough to know where that data was. :-)
