Just had a thought linking to that question on filters

Could a menu be added in a future version, similiar to a user creating a favourites list, but for the common filters they use so depending on the source they can just scroll the menu to say AVS Options/Filters and choose from a list of filters that have already been created and put in a common directory in the DVD-RB installation, for example a directory called Filters

That way you don't have to manually add the filters you may use each time you change source

So, for example, assuming you create the filter chain and put them as plain text files in the Filters directory in the DVD-RB installation, they would automatically be picked up by DVD-RB and placed in the filters menu each time DVD-RB is run so any new additions would be detected straight away

This should make it easier and also make DVD-RB even better at what it already does very well

Good idea. I was also thinking about saving and retrieving "Templates" that would load standard settings for different types of video (Animation, High Action, etc.)

Yes, concerning fllters, something similar to the Matrix folder in the install package.

Similar to where you scroll through and tick the readily available more common matrices on the Rebuilder GUI, but with the ability to import more if you like (I do).

I like the idea of predefined types of filters to choose from that you, jdobbs, suggest for use on such video as animation, high action, etc.

It's your baby so you should have better info. on which filter to use for what.
Concerning filters it's all guess work to me. :D

Regards,:)

edit: You are being hammered with suggestions. :p

I don't mean predetermined filters, more a case of DVD-RB checks the Filters directory, and it assumes the plain text files it finds there are filter chains that people use for various video sources, with the filter name take n from the filename

Examples could be :

anime.txt
vhs.txt
bandw.txt

and so on

That way the more complicated filter chains can be choosen at will be the user who has either created or copied that filter chains and maybe does more than one filter chain depending on the source they use
