View Full Version : DivX 6 Annoyance

I have both DivX and XviD codecs installed. I let DivX decode DivX and vice versa, but I never have the "generic mpeg-4" decoding option checked under the DivX Decoding Preferences so it won't decode XviD files. Yet when I go to watch an XviD file the new "DivX Settings Manager" still pops up in my system tray and really slows down my loading time by at least 5-6 seconds (I have an old machine). Is there a way to stop this?

For the "Generic MPEG-4" decoding

Start menu -> All Programs -> DivX -> DivX Codec -> Decoder Configuration Utility

For the "DivX Settings Manager"

Here's a tool to disable it:

this tool isn't a big help at all until the logo bug is fixed (is it a bug??) but whats also annoying is when I play an XviD file decoded by the XviD decoder and the file has multiple audio streams the DivXToolBar jumps in and stays in. At a single audio stream XviD file the ToolBar jumps in at header reading and then jumps out. Would be nice if this could also be fixed somehow.
