Hi,

I always thought I can put 80 min of movie on an 80min CDR or 74 min movie on a 74min CDR but I have seen several disks that have a complete movie that is 90 min or more on one disk. Movie quality is bad but they were able to do so. Is it possible to put a complete move on one disk by reducing the quality? Thanks.

yes, unless they're the 99min cdr

@Frank: The 80 min refers to the length of audio that could be placed on the CDR for playing in a standard CD player. When it comes to video (or even compressed audio like mp3), it 'basically' boils down to the format and amount of compression applied. It's then a case of the data fitting within the 700MB (80 min disc) limit.

basically VCD is where the rule applies.. 70min=700mb disk..
SVCD is variable so technically you can put less or put more.. but with the issue being quality.
you can also change the bitrate of vcd but then it really would be a Xvcd at that point.
