just recently i discovered wavpack and its hybrid mode ...
is something simililar possible with mpeg4 (or maybe some other codec)?

nope. corrections file + xvid would be larger (possibly much larger) than a simple lossless encoding using traditional techniques (AC or huffman).
snow and x264 both have lossless modes, and they're based on techniques that lend themselves better to lossless encoding than mpeg-4 ASP.
just for fun the other day i set xvid to quant 1, with a custom matrix of all-1's. the file didn't decode properly, and wouldn't have been lossless if it did (rounding error...).
