Does NeroDigital Need its own Forum?

I beleive that NeroDigital has grown to the point where it needs its own forum. The latest release of DivX will also help NeroDigital's growth.

Do you think that NeroDigital should have its own fourm?

The latest release of DivX will also help NeroDigital's growth.How so.. both are competitors, in a commercial market nontheless. DXN's AVI extension require DivX certified players, Nero's MP4 stream require NeroDigital certified players (at least for subs and chapters). And you're making this post in a forum that has hardly any posts about NeroDigital.. the AVC part got split off and basically shares a forum with x264 (and other AVC codecs which are not very relevant at this point).

And asp encoding to the "New and alternative video codecs" forum..
Well, even though we don't have an own forum like our competitors (DivX, Real), I started thinking it doesn't matter so much. Infact in this current way we have more user contacts because Nero Digital issues are discussed in several forums. :D

Where would it end, 3ivx, HDX4, FFmpeg with their own forum sections too?

If anything, it would probably make more sense to drop the "DivX Encoding" and "XviD" sections and replace them with "MPEG-4 Commercial Codecs" and "MPEG-4 Non-Commercial Codecs" sections ;)

But something tells me this suggestion wont go down very well :D

Well, i think this forum is enaugh, but if there will be more discussions about ND im sure doom9 will split the forum to avoid confusion (even if ,IMHO, ND discussion should be in the AVC forum).

DivX and XivD are only ASP codec and they have an own section (actuallly divX is also a container file, but it wasn't so in the past).For me there isn't nothing of bad in a Nero digital section, or maybe it's better the way that suggests SMD a section of commercial MPEG-4 encoder and a scetion of no-commercial MPEG-4 encoder.... at least I think so...

<hint>I am not taking suggestions </hint>Things work fine as they are and make sense from a traffic point of view. I don't care to make a difference between commercial and non commercial codecs and I cannot stand subforms that you cannot see at first glance. It is easy enough to minimize entire subsections in vbb3.

And the differences in encoding performance with "MPEG-4 SP" between say, Nero, XviD, DivX, 3ivx, FFmpeg etc, can be very different. Just as it can be with MPEG-4 ASP.

Anyway, this discussion is immaterial now as Doom9 has confirmed everything is to stay the same.... And why not... "If it ain't broke - don't fix it" :)

lol! It was just my thought, of course if you think that it works better in this way (and probably you're right) it's O.K. for me, I just don't like DivX and XivD sections, it seems that they are differents from the other encoders.
