View Full Version : Horrible Scan Results?

I'm new at using DVDInfoPro for my scans, and the PI/PO results I got have me concerned. My movies play fine in all my players, but with my error rates, I'm afraid my backups will be coasters in any future players I purchase. Can anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

A lot of high spikes in PI and POs. I'm burning via Nero6.?? w/a Pioneer dvr-109 fw1.55 @8x speed (the same as the media rating). Even tried it with my TY002 media, and got the same results.

Please help!

(BTW, I couldn't find a place to post threads of this type - if anyone knows of one, please inform me for the future)

my experience of the 108 is that if you burn in 1 zone (that is 6x or below) you'll get a better error-scan. firmware updates have helped, but in the end i just wait the extra few seconds and burn at 6x.

also, that's a prodisc you've got there - not the best of discs (though you said your TYs were like this too?).

however, bear in mind that pioneer drives (at least the 108... i've got a 109 but haven't got a mobo to plug it into yet) aren't designed to retrieve correct error scans. you may find you get different results every scan for the same disc. please correct me if the 109 fixes this issue.

btw, there's heaps of info on this stuff at club.cdfreaks.com - go to the pioneer forum and you should find plenty of good advice.
