View Full Version : Reason for blockies?

Seeing as though my last thread got closed on account of over-enthusiastic moderation (I mean I did explain my self in the post in the Auto GK forum, and there are occasions where questions may be relevant to more than one forum...), I'll ask a more simplistic question.

What's the reason why 2-pass Xvid encoding would exhibit "blockies" in motion sequences?

Is it likely to be insufficient bitrate, or is there other, more likely reasons?

Thanks for any advice.

No, that thread hasn't been closed because of a moderator being 'overenthusiastic' but because this is the way we do things according to a set of rules which you agreed to abide by when you joined this forum. Let me cite the rule for which your mentioned thread has been closed:

"8) No cross posting. Post your message once, to the appropriate forum and nowhere else or it will be locked or deleted without warning."

That means, you may not ask the same question in several subforums!

Your thread about the same topic on the AutoGK forum (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96536) still is open and I replied to your question over there.

Now you have cross-posted again, and again a moderator (in that case: me) is forced to close it. Please don't do it again.

And please read the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm), now.
