Hi,

I'm trying to inverse telecine a R2 (Bandai Japanese release, NTSC) Royal Space Force/Wings Of Hommaimise DVD using Avisynth filter. The source is from 24fps film of course. But both Telecide and tfm still give many frames with weave-like artifact.

Is that what they call the "blend" frame artifact during film to NTSC telecine process? Is there any proper way to deinterlace and get back the correct progressive frame?

Actually I'm not doing any encoding. Just use FFDShow's Avisynth interface for realtime DVD playback. For good flag film DVD I don't need to use Avisynth deinterlacer. And both Telecide and tfm can do proper pulldown deinterlace from most BAD flag 24fps source. But once in a while there seems some really mess up 24fps DVD that even these filter can't handle!

Thanks in advance.

regards,

Li On

Do a search on "blended fields". There is a large amount of material about it.
