Xvid 2 pass MS and the new version 1.1 beta 2

When I encode a video format whit XviD-1.1.-127-06112004 _Alpha Release_ and i wish encode 2 pass it last 2 taimes longer but i`em londering if i can chose the 1 pass whit Low Motion search and the 2pass whit Hight motion search Shall the size end the quality be as good az 2 pass whit HMotion search?

And how to instal the XviD-1.1.-beta 2 version?

And when I select cartoon mode on a cartoon video the picture is litle worse then whitout the cartoon mode?!

No, because stats file from 1st pass has gathered data differ from those which will be computed during 2nd pass. As a result, you will get not only worse balanced quality of diffferent movie fragments, but also serious mismatch in target file size.

Is a "cartoon" video a real cartoon? "Cartoon" means large, monotonically colored surfaces, framed with sharp borders and/or thin black lines. For instance, "Shrek" and "Monsters, Inc." are not cartoons.

Settings like "Motion precision", "Qpel", "Gmc" and so on do not affect 1st pass afaik,
since it generally used to collect statistics on bitrate distribution. Unless you don't use
"Full quality 1st pass".

an make a clean install of the new one :)

With xvid 1.1beta2 cartoon mode is to be found in "zone options" in the configuration window. If you did not change the zone properties you have one zone, beginning with frame zero. Activate cartoon mode for this or all other zones if you happen to have multiple ones.
