DivX Certification.... When did it begin?

Can somebody tell me when DivX Certification was born?

And when the first MPEG-4 stand-alone players (with or without DivX Certification) began to appear?

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the first DivX Certified devices came out in mid-late 2003. The program launched late 2002, early 2003. As to first uncertified MPEG-4 players, that I don't know, but was probably sometime in 2003.
