And what 'sticky labels' are you refering to?????

Sticky labels for letters?
labels for CD's/DVD's?
Covers?

I don't use labels of any kind on my DVD's.
I noticed your other thread mentioned having problems with labels on your DVD's.

If you are looking for a fool proof DVD label that will work in all situations I don't personally know of any, if that is what your looking for.

Maybe someone else who has some info on using DVD labels can help you.

Lastly, if you could give more concise information on what help you need you will receive more direction.

Regards,:)

If you're talking about DVD labels, then I suggest getting DVD media that is inkjet printable and get an inkjet printer that will print on CD/DVD media. I would never trust sticky labels on DVD media.

Hello,

I have skimmed through about the no-no on using dvd labels but haven't found out yet why it is not a good idea. Your comment is appreciated.

They do several things not the least is overbalance. This causes the dvd to become unreadable. Remove the lable and it works again. On regular cd's it sticks directly to the surface of the material holding the info. In my case I noticed a loose edge. When I messed with it the entire label, and everything it was stuck too came off. Leaving me with a nice clear plastic coaster. Look exactly like the clear plastic spacer/protector that comes on the top and bottom of a spindle of dvd's. Needless to say, I never use labels anymore.

Ok Guys yes sorry I did not make my message more understandable I was talking about dvd labels I to have had the lables lifting and this then left the disk stuck in side the dvd player. but the main thing is the dam thing not playing alway through.
Maybe some one can tell me is there a sure way of geting the lables off.
if not it looks like I will be busy a few days .
thanks everyone for your help.

There's countless stories to be found around the web concerning the 'downs' about cd/dvd labels. It would no doubt be better to not use them, but........ if you must just bear this in mind....

MAKE SURE IT'S PROPERLY STUCK DOWN!

Pressing it down with your STOMPER is NOT enough!

I do use a label now and then and have done since they're been on sale (quite a few years) and have NEVER had one cause a problem but I do go round the CD/DVD with my finger re-pressing every edge after being stomped.

And just 2 quick points:

1. Don't buy shit disks.
2. Don't buy cheap labels.

The only labels I've found that are worth a damn are from Kyso.com

They're glossy nanoporous labels that trap ink in and be dry as soon as it's printed on, and they use som special adhesive that doesn't ruin your disc or come "unstuck". I think they're a little pricey(.25 to .50 per label), but if you want labels, these are the ones to use.

BTW, they only sell bulk. If you just want a few, they'll redirect you to label.com.

If you want DVDs pre-labeled, go to issidata.com and get the ClearImage DVD media - it's the same stuff. Again, a little expensive, but you can get some free samples from them, and what they sent me were Taiyo Yuden, not some cheapo media.
