Hi,
Without using an OCR, is it possible to find a key-word in a text in an Image document, like .tif of Kodak Windows Imaging (which has no Ctrl+F for finding a texte) ? 5 conversions progammes tried from TIF to PDF gave a final .pdf document, but without the possibility of finding a key-word in context. In a .pdf document, the key Ctrl+F exists, but the results give all the time "word doesn't exist", even though if the word is existing in the .pdf document. Is there anyway of find a word in a image text like a .tif document without going trough an OCR ? Thank's for your kind support and have a nice day.

well, OCR means turning images into text (finding letters in them)
without it you can't search for words

Thank you very much for your message.

In a .pdf document, you can find immediately a word in a text of 200 pages, without going through an OCR.
In a .tif document, you can not do that : find a word without the help of an OCR
I'm trying to avoid the work that goes with the OCR big after work of correction.
I'm trying to find a program that make possible to work, or can be integrate (?), only with a TIF document, without conversion to a .pdf document.
I have a long .tif document of 200 pages.
I would like to find a key word in context immediately without the OCR help.
But thank you, again, for your answer.

tif is a picture format
while pdf can contain pictures and (searchable) text

you're basicly trying to fly with a car instead of a plane, you won't get around adding wings

Thank you for your answer and your time, which has been very appreciated. I have to call James Bond 007, then, I guess...
