Hi everyone!

Before i explain my problem i want to apolagize for any techical error i might write here, as this is a area of the pc that im not familiar with.

My father bought a pc while I was abroad, so I dont know what the people at the shop told them, since I came back I tried to use the line in/mic function on it but I cant hear anything, I checked the sound volume settings but nothing.

When he bought the pc he bought a CREATIVE 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM to connect to the pc and he was told at the shop it would work.(although I cant see any connections for it in the back of the pc)

The back of the pc only has a headphones, mic and line in connections.

I looked at the books that came with the pc and in one of them it says there is a something called soundmanager/ac97) that will enable the the headphones, mic and line out to work as connections for the 5.1 speaker system. I will upload some pics later from the book, so I think this function is enabled and stopping me from using the line in function because according to the book its being used as a coonection for the 5.1 speaker system.

I looked on the pc and I cant find the program that the book describes, I reinstalled the software in the cd that the booksk says but all get is a program called “AV RACK” by REALTEK but no sign of the program that will according to the book restore the line in and mic to their original functions.

Can anyone help me with this

Sorry for the errors.

The "program" might be located in your Control Panel.

CONCLUSION

the sound manager is in the control panel(sound effect manager), click on it and select 2 channel mode.

by doing that you are"unblocking" the line in/mic jacks that were untill then being used to "feed" the 5.1 speaker system
