No doubt this has been covered before, but does anybody have a filter that is good at trying to bring some quality back into old black and white movies or episodes
I'm talking about stuff like teh Sherlock Holmes films (1940's) and especially the multitude of old black and white episodes that are now available, stuff liek Flash Gordon, Zorro, etc, etc
I curently just use whats mentioned in the DVD-RB advanced techinques, namely
the following filters
undot()
undeen()
greyscale()
I have also tried msharpen() but not with much effect
Looking at the removedirt() filter this may help me out and also remove the need for at least one filter in the chain
Any suggestions on settings that can be used, or again is this down to individual movies or epsiodes, I've found a couple or suggestions for settinsg for black and white poor quality sources
Also a sharpen filter that can bring back something to these movies and episodes would help me out
Many thanks for any advice
