I'm not really sure if this belongs in this forum, but I am a newbie so....The dvd is Lotr: fote EE, I joined the 2 discs to 1 using the guide HERE (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html) ,(the joining double-sided dvd's midway down the page) I can play the dvd all the way through on power dvd on my computer, but if I try to open it with dvd shrink to compress it doesn't show up. (I go to the folder in author mode and there are no files to select.)

There is a problem during playback which might lead to why I can't compress it, if I pull the slider to advance forward into the movie to any part past the halfway point it causes power dvd to crash. During the movie when the slider reaches where the end of disc one is it stops moving, but the movie plays fine. I can also use the chapter forward button to advance forward without a problem.

I have instant copy also, when I try to use that I get a "corrupt source file error"
The Vob's for the move count up to 14 after the join.
I used this method successfully before with a double sided dvd (stargate).

Welcome to the Forum!

This would most probably be answered here in Noobs, but let's shoot it over to the IfoEdit forum where you may receive a quicker response. Good luck.

That's probably because your VOBU pointers in the IFOs are wrong, or missing. Try to mock strip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84097) the VOBs.
