As noted in the FAQ, when playing over S/PDIF the (AC3/DTS/PCM) packets are sent unmodified for decoding in your receiver/decoder, therefore software options will not have an effect on the sound. Sound tweaking should be done using your receiver. I don't fully understand your problem, perhaps you should rephrase.

No there is not really a problem,i was just going over mpc's audio options and i didn't know what S/PDIF kai LFE were about.

So spdif sends unmodified sound,ok understood, but y ony on ac3,dts,pcm and not let's say mp3,or ny other audio stream?

And what's the use of lfe?I think it sents low frequencies but what can someone gain by enabling lfe?

thanx for the help.

Thanx

SPDIF can only transmit AC3, DTS, or PCM. If you play MP3 or other formats over spdif, they are decoded before playing back.

LFE does stand for low frequency effects. LFE is the .1 in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. In general unless you have a subwoofer in your sound system LFE is not required or a benefit. The other 5 channels are full bandwidth channels, and your AC3 decoder will usually have the option of mixing the LFE channel into the other 5 channels or passing it on to your subwoofer. There's a lot of discussion about this in the forum, try some searches.
