I'm recording DVB streams (directly to .mpg), but the audio is mono (there is only sound in the left channel).

Is there any easy way to fill the right channel with the sound in the left channel ? Since I record a lot of shows everyday, I would like to know a faster method than demux the .mpg file, convert mp2 to wav, mix the channels, convert again to mp2...

Thanks.

here's what you could do:

1. download and possibility install* goldwave
2. open goldwave and drag the media** in which you want to edit your audio
3. after deflashing, Edit -> Channel -> left or right (choose left, duh!)
4. Cpy2(Copy to) or File -> Save selection as...

* older version don't require an installation
** goldwave accepts all types of video format except for mpg2 and maybe dual audio

Wavewizard can take the left channel and put it on the right. Use the "channel mapping"-> "move channels" option for this.

It can only handle wavs, so you still have to demux and convert the mp2 to wav first.

But ww can work in batches so you can do 100 files at ones if you like :).
(the new release, which will come very soon, can also immediately convert the output to mp2)

Thanks, but I found an AMAZING software called "MPEG Video Wizard", that besides the possibility to edit your video, you can also edit your audio, including a option to duplicate the left channel.

i have to aggree with you their .. over the past 8 years or so i have bought tons of software .. ive never paid more than $60 ( personal use - professional doesnt count ) for somthing untill i ran accross mpeg-vcr ( the pre curser to mpeg video wizard ) .. i paid the full face value for the mpeg-2 version , aprox $200 , and after 3 years i dont regret it one bit , it's still one of my most used pices of software. .. and i know that this keeps companies like this in business. Over the last 2 years i have had to re-install xp/w2k/98 several times , the first time i lost my serial number .. their support was quick to look up my info and get me a number for the software and help with any install issues i had.
the gop fixer is a must for pvr recordings , and the vedio editing puts their compitition ( nano ) to shame.

i highly recomend supporting places like this .. good software is few and far , but when you find one that works you never regret it.
