I have an avi (video only) I am reencoding using its same codec, same frame rate, same size, no audio, nothing that I know being changed and yet, the final avi is about almost double the orignal size, from 57MB to 100MB for a 15min video, what can be the problem with virtualdub?
The codec is Divx3 low motion.

Run both files through GSPOT and verify they are indeed the same.

What does this have to do with AviSynth?

A lossy encoder in general will throw away or keep however much data you ask it to. If the output file size is larger than you want it to be, set the encoder to use a lower bitrate.

Perhaps you used a different bitrate?
