This is my first post. I've read the faqs, searched the forums for a solution, with no luck, so please forgive me if this has already been answered.
I'm having trouble using ifoedit to author a DVD. For some reason the audio is missing from the final vobs, and the ifos have no audio listed at all. :(
Funny thing is: when i use cuttermaran to make a short clip from the same m2v and ac3 files, without cuttermaran muxing them, and then author a DVD with ifoedit using the clipped files, in this case there IS audio in the final vob. When I use the same exact steps in ifoedit's dvd author dialog that worked with the clip, but this time using the original movie-length m2v and ac3 files, there's no audio in the final vobs.
I then use cuttermaran and cut just the audio from the entire movie, i.e. basically have cuttermaran 'reprocess' the audio (or whatever it does when it 'cuts' the entire length of an audio file). This gives me a file size just slightly smaller than the original ac3 (why?), and then when I use this new ac3 with the same m2v in the authoring dialog, finally ifoedit muxes the audio into the vobs! :)
Why doesn't ifoedit like the original ac3 file? :confused:
My source was an avi that i made as a backup to a DVD that later got damaged. The avi had xvid video and ac3 audio. I used DVD2SVCD to demux the audio from the avi. I checked 'Do not convert audio (use source audio).' So shouldn't the resulting ac3 file be acceptable to ifoedit?
Any thoughts?
