Hi all,

I wanted to ensure that you were all aware of one particularly important known-issue in the DivX 6 codec.

Post-processing in the VFW codec is disabled when "Custom" post-processing is set in the Decoder Configuration Utility on your Start menu, no matter which custome post-processing settings you choose to apply. To obtain full deblocking (i.e. PP=4) under the VFW codec, ensure "Automatic deblocking" is set in the Decoder Configuration Utility.

This issue may affect video quality when you recode DivX video through the likes of VirtualDub, or when using AVISynth's AVISource() function.

"Automatic deblocking" is enabled by default and is the recommended setting.

So is it better to uncheck automatic deblocking when I use AVS or VirtualDub? I haven't understood it.

Make sure automatic deblocking is always set.

OK it's setted on automatic deblocking (i think that it's the default setting).
