DVDFab Decrypter CLI

Sooner or later (likely) a DVD protection scheme comes along that DVDDecrypter can't handle. Then the free DVDFabDecrypter (http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm) (previously DVDFab Express Free) could suddenly become interesting as an alternative. Currently, a useful feature of this tool is the ability to copy from any directory, whereas DVDDecrypter requires the source to be a drive.

I've put together a small proggy that can run DVDFab Decrypter with CLI. Useful for batch processing, or when run from a full convertion tool.

If your OS is non-english, you must change some strings in the .ini file that is created. The command line is similar to that of DVDDecrypter, but simpler:

DVDFabDecrypterCLI.exe [/?] [/start] [/close] [/src <Folder>] [/dest <Folder>]

Hopefully, they'll add this feature in a later version, so I don't have to keep updating it. :)

Put it in the same directory as DVDFabDecrypter.exe.

Command Line computer operation is from old DOS days when I first learned computers in college (1989 to 1992). I just don't get why the use of Command lines on windows. It's point and click nowadays. Heck, I've barely even used command lines since college. I don't remember any. :)

By using command line you can do certain things must faster, also I still use a lot of DOS command line stuff, - sigh, where would we be without Xcopy?

.... I just don't get why the use of Command lines on windows. CLI is very important for programs to be run in batch so that other programs like DoItFast4U, DVD-RB, or GordianKnot can use them to automate what you would have to do manually by means of thousands of "point and click" interactively.

Well I only tried it on one DVD (maria:Full of grace) and it seems to have worked fine...sure doesn't have the same features or flexibility as DVD decryptor though heheh. But if it works, then that's ok.

I'm a newbie who needs things kept as simple as possible. I downloaded and used DVDFab Decrypter last week to decrypt a scratched copy of Cold Mountain that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink kept stopping on.

It worked fine. I haven't tried it on anything else in my collection yet.
