hello
i have made a compilation dvd using dvd shrink, and i am wondering if there is any software that will let me create a basic menu (and possibly submenus) for pointing to the various titles on the dvd, without having to reauthor the whole dvd/re-encode the video/audio
thanks
nick.

A neat little trick that I found out to add a menu without reauthoring, is to recreate the layout of your exisiting DVD using blank video clips, then create the menu and point it to the blank clips. Finalise the "blank" DVD, then open your exisiting DVD and import the menu you just created.
I'll quickly outline the process for you to try.
1. Firstly you need a blank video clip. You can simply use DVDShrink to reauthor a 1sec clip from anything.
2. Let's say your compilation DVD consits of:
Title 1
Title 2
Title 3
Title 4
Use a simple program like DVDStyler or DVDAuthorGUI to create your menu, BUT instead of importing the titles from your compilation, import the blank clip each time. So finish creating your fancy menu which points to Titles 1-4 (all of which are 4 of the same blank clip) and create/reauthor the menu. Since we're using blank (or atleast very short and small) video clips, and depending on how fancy you've made the menu, it shouldn't take very long to complete.
3. Use PGCEdit to open your original compilation DVD.
Import the menu that you just created. Now depending on how comfortable you are in using PGCEdit, there are a few minor adjustments to make, then all you have to is hit save and you have just added a menu without total reauthoring! :)
