Hello, what is the best program to use if I want to remove extra material on a dvd so its only the menu and movie left, or menu + some extras and the movie? There are basically two different ways of doing it:

1. You can build a new DVD from scratch and add your movie, menu etc. One way of doing this (using freeware tools) is by creating a simple DVD with the movie in DVDShrink's Re-author mode and then manually add the menu etc. afterwards using PgcEdit. With PgcEdit, you can then edit the menu to make the button commands point to the right material on the DVD. Here (http://home.tiscali.be/debie.roland/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/adding_menus_to_dvd_shrink_reauthored_dvds.htm) is a guide for this made by blutach. Also, you can find more useful guides on the subject at the PgcEdit homepage (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/).

2. Alternatively you can simply process the original DVD structure and remove unwanted material, and then edit the menu buttons correspondingly. I prefer this method. DVDRemake Pro can do this, but if we're talking freeware tools, then PgcEdit and/or VobBlanker are the programs to use. PgcEdit can blank (remove) whole titlesets, and kill playback of PGCs and cells (this will not free up space on the DVD, but "only" skip the unwanted material). VobBlanker, however, can blank on title, PGC and cell level. See the official homepages for these two apps for guides on how to use the blank/kill playback functions.

And I am also looking for a prog where I can open up the menu and link buttons to a specific vts.PgcEdit's new menueditor can do this. MenuEdit can do it, too, but this program doesn't have menu background preview in the freeware version.

For further elaboration on the above matters, you may want to post your questions in the IFO/VOB Editors section (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=50) here at the forum.
