From what I've read, DGMPGDec is supposed to be the latest version of DVD2AVI.

I was following the DVB-DivX guide on DOOM9, and Gordion Knot is saying the file outputted by DG isn't a valid DVD2AVI file. How do I go about getting past this?

What version of DGIndex you using? Is the DLL reference by the script from the same version as the DGIndex being used and is this the version that came with AutoGK?

The format of the 'D2V' file can change depending on the version of DGIndex being used.

You have to use the version of DGMPGDec that ships with Gordian Knot, because as iNFO-DVD pointed out, later versions can change the D2V format. I assume at some point len0x will absorb the latest stable version.

You have to put the corresponding DGDecode.dll, that came with the version of DMPGDec you used, in GK's AvisynthPlugins folder and reference to it in GK's Options > MPEG Decoding Library section.

A quick fix is to copy and then rename DGDecode.dll to mpeg2dec3.dll, possibly backing up the old mpeg2dec3.dll.
GK has mpeg2dec3.dll hardcoded as the library to open d2v. The editable setting mentioned here is only used for avs generation, but you have to open the d2v first (then auto-crop, etc..), which only works if you trick GK into using the newer library.

LOL. Yes, my version is a bit old. Since I only use it to calculate the resize stuff and generate a template avs script (wich I then edit further), it's sufficent, however.

Why not simply downloaded GK 0.35.. it ships with a reasonably modern DGIndex version. And if you absolutely must update DGIndex, just replace the dgdecode.dll file in the Gordian Knot folder with the one that comes with the DGDecode package that you download. The guide says you need v0.35 and that has all the software you need.. you just need the software that ships with GKnot and not use your own if you don't understand the consequences of switching out software ;)
