Hi,
Is there any software out there, that will, remove the voice from a small part of a DVD,but leave the music still playing.

What has happen is that a TV announcement has come in the middle of a film, I need to remove this.
Thanks,
Chris Sayer

if it's 5.1 you might be lucky and it's for example only on the center whiel the music is on FL&FR

if it's stereo you are out of luck, unless you wanna put a lot of effort in it

is this a 5.1 DVD? or a 2.0 channel?

if it's 5.1 it's a doddly to get rid of most of the dialogue - just mute the centre channel.

for 2 channel it's a little more difficult. there's vocal-remove type filters in cool edit (audition) - use the "channel mixer", and i think there's one in virtualdubmod, but i haven't used it.

however, vocal removal hinges on the fact that vocals are almost always mixed in as mono, and thus can be removed with a little channel subtraction. if there's verb or any kind of panning on the vocal, this wont work.

but removing just mono content is likely to remove too much
