How to attach images or large files- sticky

I have seen in many posts questions as to how images can be attached to their posts or how to attach a sample video file. These were answered in those posts. But when I search the forum (in this new appearance) "how to attach images' I do not get any result. If I use just 'attachments' I get a long list of threads whose headings do not give me a clue. In the earlier Avtar of the Forum In the top part there was some place where one could atleast get some info. Now if in faq you click attachments it doesnt give a clue to this problem.

Will it be possible to include a sticky thread which gives this info and other suggestions if any.

I did not understand half of your post, but for images, instead of uploading them as attachments and wasting the server space, you can upload them to www.imageshack.us and hotlink it here.

For files, use something like http://www.putfile.com/, http://rapidshare.de/, http://www.uploadhut.com etc and hotlink it here.

My request is to have a sticky thread where one can get this info. I found that it is not easy to get this by search in the forum. What about attaching long Avi files?

"Long" means? If you use www.yousendit.com, you can send even files upto 1 GB. But you definitely can't attach them here. :/

actually, that's a pretty good idea to either include it in the faq (or is it there already? i haven't read it for a while...) or have a sticky thread that explains the whole attachment process.

particularly the bit about needing moderator approval for an attachment to show up seems to confuse a lot of people.

Sorry but all images are between img tags as:

but images are not visibles, only http address.
