Hello.

When i open an AVI file (encoded using GordianKnot and Virtual Dub) with TMPEGEnc i get no audio, and the audio box is empty. It does not recognizes the Audio from the AVI file.

I tried to open other AVI files i downloaded from the web, and it recognizes them, looks like it does not recognizes the files i encoded myself.

The audio i used, when i encoded the AVI files using GK, is a AC3 file. and when i play the AVI files with WMP, the audio works great.

How can i fix this?

You need TMPGEnc ac3 sound Plugin (http://download1.pegasys-inc.com/download_files/TSP-AC3-1.30-install-EN.exe) for this. It requires Win 2000 or XP, and there is no trial version.

Regards.

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. If you are making a DVD, save your file as an elementary stream, video only. You can always strip the AC3 audio from your AVI and add it to your new M2V during the DVD creation process.

OR

Use BeSweet and BeLight to transform your AC3 to MP2 Audio, which TMPGEnc has no problem with.

OR

Spend more money on the AC3 Plug-In (which, afaik, only does 2 channels)
