I remember using an older version of Gordian Knot and it used DVD2AVI. Now the current version of GK doesn't have this? What replaced it, and why?

DGMPGDec (DVD2AVI) F.A.Q. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=87809)

wow, that's a long faq, and it got closed as well. and it's not a sticky?

DSIndex vs DVD2AVI, or is DVD2AVI == DSIndex?

Looks like DSIndex is better and more useful...

it's not a sticky because there's a new version (which is a sticky).. and they tend to be closed because people abuse stickies without end.. posting their questions there because that those threads will always stay on top.

There's no such thing as DSIndex.. it's called DGIndex.

lol, so DGMPGDec is not as good anymore and been replaced?.. but DGMPGEnc is the best encoder??

I was thinking DGMPG Dec & Enc being related, made by same guys... and known that DGMPGEnc is the most reliable encoder.

Though from briefly reading that FAQ I got confused as it mentions DGMPGDec as DVD2AVI, then it mentions DGIndex as DVD2AVI.....
which is which?

so DGMPGDec is crap Chill out or you'll get struck for rule 4. You might also like to actually find out what you are talking about.

So what do you want to know? Did you read the FAQ? Just think of DGIndex as the new and improved form of DVD2AVI. And if you get the entire DGMPGDec package (comes with GKnot and AutoGK), inside you'll find the Quick Start Manual, the DGDecode Manual, and the DGIndex Manual. If you read those from top to bottom, you'll already know much more than the people that just come here asking uninformed questions without first doing their "homework".

I think you just answered a question I had. Thanx. Don't worry I read the FAQ and the manual.
