Hi, I'm very very very newbie to this forum. I tried so many times to search for ma question but I couldn't find the appropriate answer so I'm asking you guys this:

How can I burn my Anime which are in .AVI format to a DVD+R cd of 4.7GB and be able to listen to it on my DVD.

I tried TMPGEnc but it seems it doesn't support the .AVI files?

Can you guys help me?!

Wrap your .avi in an .avs script and feed to TMPGEnc.

How much time does it takes to TMPGEnc to convert a ~175MB file into a MPG file?

Depends on the speed of your PC, type of filters used, settings used..so on and so forth.

Assuming that is about 30 minutes? Without any filters active, it takes me about 40 minutes on an AthlonXP 1900+ to make an MPEG1 (VCD) file.
