FieldDeinterlace Error (maybe DirectShowSource related?)

Unfortunately I have to use DirectShowSource for this AVI and I hate blending frames. Is there a known problem with DirectShowSource that might cause this?

C'mon, Backwoods, you know the drill by now. :)

1. State what the "error" is. Um, I see motion blur, so what? You say "might cause this"; I say "might cause WHAT"?

2. Provide an unprocessed source clip for inspection.

Ok, I'll give a better example. But just from looking at the 2 screenshots (flipping between them on your HDD maybe) you should be able to see it. The colors look like a bad 128 GIF in the "blend=false." The blur is from the camera moving, so yes, it's a bad example of a shot, but the problem is more visible at this time.

If this example isn't good enough I can upload a short clip of the original AVI, but you'd need to grab the Cineform codec. Hope this helps.

Yes, upload the AVI and tell me where to get the codec.
And why do you have to use DirectShowSource()?

What happens if you omit the deinterlace and transcode to HUFYUV, and then
make another script to load that and deinterlace? I'd much rather get HUFYUV from you.

The VFW version is 500 dollars while the DS is free with Premiere Pro 1.5.1. Cutting and uploading now. www.cineform.com for a free 30 day trial...hmm, but that is for the VFW codec. I guess we'll see.


EDIT:Ok, HUFFYUV test it is. One minute please.

EDIT2: Uploading HUFFUV sample. The same problem is happening with AVISource and DirectShowSource with the HUFFYUV file. Odd. I checked another Cineform DS file I have with the same settings and there wasn't any of the same errors.

Apparently it's in your source, as you can see by doing just separate fields. You'll see the contouring. It's nothing to do with the deinterlacers. With blend on, they just disguise the problem by blending the two fields together.

Damn, so simple. Why didn't I think of that. I blame Cineform's conversion as of now, I'm going to capture the M2T from the camera and see if it's there. Oh well, thank you and sorry for waisting your time Mr. Decomber.

Looks fine to me, damn. Used SeparateFields() on this shot to make sure.

Regarding your edit, was that just to confirm that you think Cineform's conversion is at fault, or do you think it leaves an unanswered loose end? It seems to me you have confirmed that the conversion is at fault. Maybe you have some bad settings for the conversion?
