I'm just learning about the various switches in BeSweet, so I hope these questions are not too stupid.
I was concerned about making sure my output files (usually Mp3 or Ogg), have a good volume and I don't have to crank up my volume.
In reading through BrotherJohn's commandline reference, I found the descriptions of OTA hybridgain and Azid maximize to be very similar. Both seem to be relevant to my volume concern.
I seem to recall seeing somewhere that Hybridgain is recommended when encoding to Ogg Vorbis (I wanted to do a few AC3 -> Ogg). I also noticed that GKnot by default seems to include Hybridgain for Mp3 encoding as well.
1. Is Hybridgain recommended for Ogg encoding? How about for Mp3?
2. If I'm using Hybridgain when encoding, does this mean that I would NOT need to use --maximize? Or would there still be some benefit to using --maximize?
TIA for your help.
