don't know?
you can try doing a mock strip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=84097&highlight=mock+strip) it has a Remove Macrovision option. maybe the program you use didn't remove it (settings changed?)

The message does not come from IfoEdit, it uses whatever it can find in installed players.

Have you tried other software players?
Are you using an old graphics card with video (analog) out capability?
It sounds to me like the player is checking for Macrovision protection on the analog output, and not finding it, it refuses to play anything.

The files open with no problem with my software and i checked in Ifoedit and the macrovision has been removed.I'm using version v0.971 and i'm trying to use the dvd player option with my Ifoedit so i can view the files i want to work on.It won't open anything, Thought it might be a bug with Ifoedit..

Well its got me too now !! I've read this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=94103&highlight=macrovision+error

Now I'm getting this exact same error in Ifoedit and the only thing I've updated recently is NERO so I'll check that.

Ok - Ifoedit0.96 shows a Nero Decoder in the "filters used" dialog so thats probably it.

AAHHH !!! Thats it.

Uninstalled Nero and now everything works again. Hmm - how to install Nero without this filter........

cheers

IfoEdit does play from the HD.

The reason it checks for DVD in the drive is beyond me.

The exact reason for the Macrovision message is due to the Filter installed by Nero 6.6 and I havn't had time to find a workaround yet as there is no "user" option in the install routine......
