Does this software effect the film quality? Seems I got some blurring after I used this software. I don't see how.

from what someone told me some time back, it does a direct stream copy.

I use TMPGEnc DVDAuthor w/ac3 plug-in all the time. It does NOT do any re-encoding of any imported vobs or MPEG`s ... so your picture quality should be the same as the original. The only encoding it would is the menus ...
I use TMPGEnc DVDAuthor as one critical component of backing up my DVDs. I backup the main movie (only) and one audio track (ac3 6-channel if available). I make a simple menu. If the resulting re-authored DVD is too large then I used DVD-RB Pro w/CCE-Basic to get it to fit on a single layer DVD-R. I've been very pleased with the results.
