Hi,

Im fairly new to encoding and am after a bit of help.

Ive ripped a vob file off my dvd, and have that and a demuxed ac3 file.

I have loaded the vob into virtualdubmod, and loaded the ac3 stream and set everything up with xvid.

Now, when i encode this i get lots of little lines across the video? I am unsure but i think this is interlacing? Can someone tell me how to set up a deinterlacer correctly in VDub to fix this problem.

Secondly, The vob file is from a dvd in 4:3 fullscreen aspect, when ive cropped the vob in vdub, what size should i set it to be resized to? ive tried 640x320 but it didnt quite look right?

Sorry if these are stupid questions and thanks for any help.

Your best bet would be to probably download AutoGordianKnot as it does most things for you and does them quite well.

And after that if you're feeling adventurous you could go to the XVID forum and download my 'avi.NET' proggy and see if it works for you. It's still beta so trying to get lots of people to try it to iron out any bugs. ;)

In the video tab click filters> add>deinterlace filter.

640x480
