How to record Xvid w/o audio in VD?

I'm sorry that i ask it here, but it seems that there is not too much visitors in VirtualDub forum.
I'm using VDM in capture avi mode.
I record long Xvid video (almost static picture) for very long time - like 20-50 hours. The problems is that i can't find the way to disable audio recording. I've searched all over the settings, and i can only change audio compression format.
So does any1 know how to disable audio recording in VirtualDubMod altogether?

File -> Capture AVI : to get to Capture mode

Audio -> Enable Audio Capture : click on this so that check mark goes away.

Another quesion on this. meanwhile i have chosen dummy audio format compression, so it will take as less space as possible.
Take a look at my Recording. I want to ask something:

It says, that it will be able to record for 2 days, 22 hours on remaining 4.62GB of space. Since this scientific experiment is important to me, i just want to know, could there be some problems with file size limit? (i use ntfs). Or can be some problems on video length? Can regular player open file, that is 2 days long?

I wasn't sure what format to choose , so i have chosen Xvid, 1 pass (2 bframes)
I tested couple of minutes before start, and quality was too good. All i need - is to able to read the numbers on the testers.
How can i record even more time on same disk space. I hope that my experiment will end before 2 days pass, but i don't sure.

try without bframes/lowering the resolution/disable vhq

and for 2 day of recording ... don't know even if opendml2 could accept this... (a good question for AlexNoe)

try something "more professional" like iuvcr, recording in mkv format, should be more secure...

i suggest to do some test before.

yeah I'm using the experimental 1.6.5 (from virtualdub.org) I just downloaded 1.5 version and it the option isn't there. I don't know how you feel about experimental but I had no problems with it so far, so should be ok.

yeah since the picture is more or less static you should consider lowering settings (turning off stuff like buzzqw said) since you don't really need it in uber quality, then again since it's static you don't really care if some frames are dropped either, but still will make it easier on the cpu without b-frames and such.

Will definitely try this experimental.
Af for dropped frames - this is because of the crappy 5$ value webcam, not because of probessor. (19% cpu usage). It just can't produce more than 4.5-5 fps, even if set 30fps. But even one frame every 5 sec is enough for me.

I used Iuvcr some 1.5 years ago. Can it record to another containers?

Capturing in your project as you already using VirtualDub, you can set framerate as 0.2 fps, and using compresion let say 50kb/s in DivX 4.12 having audio not recorded, the file size for 30 minutes is a little above 2MB. To play back such file use VirtualDub again.

To be able to play this file with another players use VirtualDub for quick transcoding to 50 fps / set this 50 fps in FRAME RATE with DIRECT COPING/

VDubMod can split a capture, so filesize isn't an issue, well other than running out of HDD space.

Enabling multisegment capture in VDM there is no problem to record 20 days (20x24h) on 20 GBytes.

of course it can... the maximum file size probably exceeds that of what a NTFS partition could hold...

Thanks Guys. I was able to disable audio. And my last test was sucessful. I could play the 35 hour long video. I also find a way to lower the bitrate - i used strong themporal smoother filter, Now Xvid is only using 3kb/s (even though smallest setting is 16) - very wise behaviour. Now i can record 25 days of non-stop video on only 5gb!!
