View Full Version : Planned Editions to Segment editor?

I am pretty sure that it has been discussed before, but are there plans to allow you to relocate bitrate evenly instead of just for the main vts when you use the editor? In episode dvds that show the same intro several times, it doesn't help much to have it all go to the biggest episode vts on the disc when there are several. Thanks.
Also, is there any way for me to manually assign the bitrate evenly after using the editor, I am kinda stuck on a huge episode dvd and most of the other tools that edit dvds are a little overkill.

There are plans to add many additional features to the segment editor.
In episodic DVDs (or any DVD for that matter) the bitrate is allocated equally to all segments based upon the original authoring -- unless some "extra" feature has been used to reallocate to the main feature.

Yeah, but what I am saying is that when I use the editor to remove things, all the space saved goes to the biggest vts instead of all of them equally. I end up with one vts that has like double the bitrate of all the others.
When I remove the intro and ending to a series of vts files in the editor, I need the gained bitrate over all the vts and not the biggest one. On almost all episode discs I have, each vts has one episode broken into the intro, show, and ending. Since there are several different sized vts for the different episodes, having the bitrate go to the biggest doesn't work well.

Ok... I see what you're saying. I'm looking a a possible solution for that.

Ok thanks. Other than this feature, I have had almost no problems using rebuilder nor do I need any other features as you are planning to do the ILVU thing by retail. Can't wait to purchase the retail version when it comes out.

If I process a movie with no compression, remove the segments I don't want, rebuild the movie, and then introduce it into rebuilder again would it increase the bitrate for all vts or would it save bitrate information from the last rebuild without encode?
I tried it and the scenes that I tried to remove were still there just without audio. I guess you can't do no compression and use the segment editor.

No you can't. But I'm trying to figure out a way to do at least some parts. The problem is that you can't replace segments with blanks or slideshow without reencoding.

ah but if there were an option to copy raw instead of reencode, while it would be a pian to set all the cells to "dont reencode", you could do it
