jdobbs-
Since you've now incorporated Decrypter into RB with ISO create/burn (an awesome idea), would it be very difficult to go the extra step and add a 'Rip w/ Decrypter' function, too? Seems like a logical addition - for those who have separate read/write drives (I assume more than a few of us), RB users can just place their source disk in their read drive, their blank recordable in their write drive, choose their settings, select 'one-click' and voila! - come back later to the complete job - ripped, encoded and burned! :D

This idea just came from enjoying the ease that I found in your latest idea to add Decrypter's burn function. Since RB is truly about being a 'one-click' backup solution that uses an encoder, this feature would make it about as easy as you can get to do just that.

what do you think?

While I would love to have that function as well, wouldn't that land this program into the same legal problem that one of the one-click programs had last year? Or do you get out of that if you don't bundle DVD Decrypter with the program?

I Don't see it as being a problem. As long as it isn't bundled (and even if it was, if it was w/permission from Decrypter developer), it would be no different than using CCE as part of the process. It's just a program you can use w/RB.

Maybe its just me, but I often have trouble reading DVDs reliably. About 1 of every 10 disks needs to be cleaned or fiddled with to get decrypter to finish it.
Also, ever since I figured out how to use pgcedit, I almost always do a quick pass to blank out FBI warnings, before rebuilding.
So, for me at least, a completely "one click start-to-finish" is not very valuable, so I'd put this low on the priority list.

But, hmmm, you have a neat idea. I've got an old read-only DVD drive that I replaced with my burner---maybe I'll put it back in.

Yeah, I also like to tweak settings and verify before I burn, but with the growing reliability of RB and the wide range of settings we can program into it, I feel more and more comfortable in something like this. That's the nice thing about this 'start-to-finish' option -you don't have to use it, but it's there if you feel comfortable with the source.

For tweakers, it may not be so useful.
For us "Movie Only" types (the way I backup >90% of my DVDs), the 'rip-rebuild-burn' method under the control of DVD-RB would have a lot of benefit.
