Hello all!
I have a classic dvd (star wars 2) and I think it's a progressive source.
Must I check the option "disable interlaced" (in avs options) or I must keep the default setting ("disable interlaced" uncheck)?
because the deinterlace plugin slow down the backup and I am not sure it's necessary for progressive source like classic dvd.
Can you confirm?
Thanks

It's progressive without a doubt, so you can check the option "disable interlaced" for the specific vts.
But why were you deinterlacing anyway?

Thanks DVD Rebuilder recognizes the format and reproduces it correctly. You should not check that box, except in very unique circumstances. That option is meant only for certain very uncommon discs that are progressive but are incorrectly tagged as interlaced.

jdobbs, they are not so uncommon, I keep finding them now and then.
MatMaul, anyway regarding star wars 2, the movie is progressive, you just have to check the respective vts.
Just want to let you know that DVD Rebuilder wouldn't deinterlace if you hadn't told it to, so having the deinterlace plugin loaded wouldn't make any difference.
One last note, even when the source is progressive, it won't hurt to encode as interlaced, so in the situations that you are not sure just let DVD Rebuilder do the job.
