Best picture quality? What % in GK and at what res?

So I'm curious as to what all you are using for DVD quality (or better?) videos. I'm building my collection with GK + XviD + OGG in the OGM container. I've been encoding at around bits/(pixel*frame) = 0.225, roughly 70% quality, and I always bump the res up to 960x??? to properly scale to my RPTV. But the TV is still in storage, and I have only seen the encoded movies (I've already done about 70) on my laptop...

I'm hoping for at lease DVD quality, but I'd really like better. I've been using setting according to the tutorials, except as mentioned above. Sometimes I throw in a noise filter for older/grainer looking movies (ie Scarface). The size of the output has been about 16MB per minute, or about 1.5GB for a 90min movie.

Am I off to a good start?

How are you supposed to get better than 'DVD Quality' if you're transcoding to a lossy codec? Even a encode to a lossless codec wont be better than the source. All you can do is change it so it appeals more to you - ie throw in sharpening / other enhancers (iip / LimitedSharpen etc.). You cant create better quality 'out of thin air' but you can attempt to ;)
