problem with the "grudge"

has anyone else had trouble with this movie? it defies all my attempts to decrypt it. have tried using dvddecrypter, dvdxcopy, dvdshrink, and vstrip, and all of them stop dead when they get to the main movie vob (VTS_07_1.vob). dvd decrypter says:

Interpretation: Check Condition

the other programs just stop responding. any ideas, anybody? thanks.

3.5.4.0 works.

If it doesn't, you've got a bad disc.

Forget the other programs you mentioned, none of them are able to work with ARccOS protected discs.

installed dvd43 and then used dvd decrypter and it worked. it ran slow as hell, but it worked. thanks.

Again, no need for that. My program works best when it's on its own and gets real data from the disc.

what do you mean by real data? is data garnered from dvd43 flawed?

Well it changes stuff so things are not always as they seem.

I need direct access to the real info from the drive/disc, otherwise my program cannot determine the best course of action.

A NOTE TO ALL: If you use DVD Decrypter to first rip the disc, do not use DVD43, AnyDVD, or any other type of copyright bypassing software! It will only cause problems with DVD Decrypter and your ripping process will fail with various errors. All you need is the latest version of DVD Decrypter and the latest version of DVD Shrink. After first ripping with DVD Decrypter, use the "Open Files" button to load the files into DVD Shrink and continue as you normally would.

I just had the same problem with Spanglish, a Sony ARccOS disk.

Shrink with DVD43 3.5.3,or AnyDVD,or Nero Recode, all of them in various setups, they all choked, the only way, and I mean the only way to get it to the HD was with the Great DVD Decrypter.:)

Absolutely. I've learned, and have never forgotten, that if DVDDecrypter can't do it even after changing the drive, then it's got to a bad disc. Period.
