ive downloaded the pro version from the email link, installed it then downloaded my key, placed it in C:\Program Files\DVD-RB PRO directory, clicked on my desktop shortcut and keep getting this error...... "DVD Rebuilder Failure The key file is missing is not current or corrupt". Ive downloaded it several times. The key looks like a media player sound file is that correct? And no I havnt renamed or modified it in anyway. Please help. :(

It should look more like a registry file (the icon being a little blue rubik's looking cube) than an audio file. Of course, it depends on the associations your system has made. (It's possible .key is somehow associated with media player sound files, but that would be odd.)
How about trying to start DVD-RB from the executable within the C:\Program Files\DVD-RB PRO directory and not from the shortcut. See if that makes a difference. Otherwise, I am a bit stumped why DVD-RB is not starting.

You probably has an e-mail address that ends with a ".au" -- for some reason it removes the ".key" from the file when you download it. I have no idea what causes that. If it makes you feel any better -- you weren't the only one.

This was too painful, so I'm currently researching an alternate method. Similar but different.
what if you just change dots to underscores?
the email address would still be recognizable...

I would just like a link to my key so I can download it and install it into my DVD-RB directory.
Apparently I missed the link to it when the first 93Pro version was released (honest, I didn't see that there was a link to a key, and now the e-mail is gone); although the last version of pro ran just fine. With 93.2, I got the same error as everyone else has reported.
Not only that, although I have my CCE Basic 2.70 in program files\custom technology\Cinema Craft Encoder Basic\CC2.exe, the installer says it can't find it. The version is of CCE Basic I have is 2.70.1.4.
Will new links to keys be sent with the next notification of Pro update?

If you lost your key, just send a request to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com from the e-mail address that is registered.

why don't zip the key file. There would be no problem afterwards for everyone. And you also could put a password on the file

I'm redoing it completely anyway, probably for v0.94. Too many e-mails...
