Hi, I'm having a little problem with this program. I normally use TMPG but I thought I'd give this one a try.

I load up the video source and have all the correct settings ready for encoding but the subs won't show up in the preview. I have vobsub, the srt is renamed the same as the video file. Direct Show plays it with Windows Media Player.

Has anybody used this app?

No, because there are so much other encoders, QuEnc, FreeEnc, NuEnc, HC Encoder or TMPGEnc. This encoders give you much better quality then the MainConcept. This isn't a good encoder if you ask me and it costs a lot of money.

True, MainConcept is the worst encoder in the world. Dot.

:p

I don't think so but I don't like the quality instead there are some very good Freeware encoders. The only thing: The speed is very good.

try going to options/import modules and disabling mpeg and avi modules so it should hopefully use the directshow module. also try actually encoding a small piece rather than going by the preview. cant say it will work, never tried it.

uh, no actually it isnt. in general it does an ok job though to get the best out of it you may sometimes want to tweak things like the advanced video settings. not exactly newbie freindly i know but they are called advanced.

IMO Mainconcept is a good fast encoder. Like other programs you set it to your own preferences.

Thanks, dragonGodz. I'll look into it.

Encoder Master, I know this is not exactly the most revered encoder out there. I'm just coming out of my TMPG shell, so to speak, and trying other encoders, to see what they are like.

I agree that it isn't a particually user friendly app, but I was surprised how fast it was.
