View Full Version : 2.70 issues, a question

I am a 2.5 user - have never had a dropped frame, or missing m2v since switching to 2.5

i dont understand why ppl are even trying to use 2.7 when it seems so bad. even 2.67 for that matter. Newer isnt always better. Are there encoding related improvements in the newer versions (other than speed) that i have missed ??

i dont want to start a flame war, just a discussion on why the obvious problems with 2.70 are worth the effort versus a trouble free older version

Well the latest 2.7 version fixed the batch issue that caused it not to work properly before (besides using the set minimised option in DVDRB). Which I think might be to blame for the missing frames etc. you mentioned

As for improvements, I believe this has been in the arena for interlaced encodes being alot better than its predecessors, which Procoder holds the crown for. Maybe also another improvement is the ability to utilise matrices to improve encoding quality for low bitrate encodes, besides those I don't think theres a lot more improvements other than what you have stated.

Hopefully that helps answer your query.

I love CCE SP 2.50 but it isn't as good on Interlaced material as the newer ver (2.66/67/70) and I do a lot of TV Series stuff.... but it may seem like I am lucky and have never had any problems with CCE SP 2.70 or CCE Basic 2.70. As far as bad... the problem seems to be a hit or miss problem... some have it and some don't...I don't and sometimes can't understand why ppl are.... all of my machines are AMD's with no problems... my friend has a Intel P4 and has nothing but problems with CCE SP 2.70.02... he downloaded the new trial (v2.70.02.01) and it works fine for him.

I used 2.5 and 2.6 for quite a while (2-3 years) and once I obtained 2.70, I've used it since. I've had no issues with it. I'm also running an AMD processor.
